TCL TAB 8" - Manage Do Not Disturb Settings

If your TCL TAB 8 isn't receiving alerts for texts and email, here's how to check 'Do not disturb' settings.
  • The Do Not Disturb setting allows sound / vibration (for phone calls, messages, etc.) to be turned on or off as preferred.
  • Alarms are always considered priority interruptions.

Manage Exceptions

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Sound
    .
  3. Tap
    Do Not Disturb
    .
  4. Tap
    TURN ON NOW
    .
  5. To allow exceptions, from the 'WHAT CAN INTERRUPT DO NOT DISTURB' section, tap any of the following:
    • People
      • Conversations:
        1. Tap
          Conversations
           then select the preferred option.
          • All conversations
          • Priority conversations
          • None
        2. Tap the
          Back icon
           to save.
      • Messages
        1. Tap
          Messages
           then select the preferred option.
          • Starred contacts
          • Contacts
          • Anyone
          • None
        2. Tap the
          Back icon
           to save.
    • Apps
      To select which apps can interrupt:
      1. Tap
        Apps
        .
      2. Tap
        Add apps
        .
      3. Tap the preferred app then tap any of the notifications switches to turn on Switch on or off Switch off. (e.g., Mail, New messages, etc.)
        Options vary by app.
      4. Tap the
        Back icon
         to save.
    • Alarms & other interruptions
      1. Tap
        Alarms & other interruptions
        .
        Tap any of the following switches to turn on or off:
        • Alarms
        • Media sounds
        • Touch sounds
        • Reminders
        • Calendar events
      2. Tap the
        Back icon
         to save.
  6. Tap the
    Back icon
     to return to the Exceptions screen.

Manage Do Not Disturb Schedules

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Sound
    .
  3. Tap
    Do Not Disturb
    .
  4. Tap
    Schedules
     to do one of the following:
    • Create a new schedule:
      1. Tap
        Add more
        .
      2. Select an option (e.g., Event, Time).
      3. Enter a schedule name (e.g., School, Work, etc.) then tap
        ADD
        .
      4. The following options are available if 'Time' was selected.
      5. Tap
        Days
        , select the desired days of the week then tap
        Done
        .
        Enabled when a checkmark is present.
      6. Tap
        Start time
        , select the desired time then tap
        OK
        .
      7. Tap
        End time
        , select the desired time then tap
        OK
        .
      8. Tap the
        Alarm can override end time switch
         to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
    • To turn a schedule on or off, tap to select (check) the schedule name.
      Enabled when a checkmark is present.
    • Delete a schedule:
      1. Tap the
        Settings icon
         Settings icon next to the appropriate schedule.
      2. Tap
        DELETE
        .
      3. To confirm, tap
        DELETE
        .
