Here's how to restart your Galaxy S20 FE 5G UW into Safe Mode to help determine if an app is causing it to freeze, reset or run slowly.
Safe Mode puts your phone iton a diagnostic state (returned to default settings) so you can determine if a third-party app is causing your device to freeze, reset or run slowly.
An alternate method is available if the device is unresponsive or won't power on.
  1. Simultaneously press and hold the
    Side button
     and
    Volume down button
     (right edge) until the 'Power off' prompt appears on the screen then release.

  2. Touch and hold
    Power off
     until the 'Safe mode' prompt appears then release.
  3. To confirm, tap
    Safe mode
     Safe Mode.
    This process may take up to 30 seconds to complete.
    Upon reboot, 'Safe mode' appears in the lower-left of the unlock / Home screen.
  4. With Safe Mode enabled, ensure Airplane Mode is turned off then test device and app functionality.
