Samsung Galaxy A51 5G UW - Set Up Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up fingerprint recognition on your Galaxy A51 5G UW.
  • A fingerprint is utilized to unlock the device.
  • For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and free of moisture, dirt, oil, lotion, dyes, etc.
  • Up to 3 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.
    These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Security and privacy
    Biometrics
    .
  3. Tap
    Fingerprints
    .
  4. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
    If no screen lock is active, tap
    Continue
     and select a lock option (e.g., Pattern, PIN or Password) then follow the steps to complete the process.
    Refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock for assistance.
  5. Read about Fingerprints then tap
    Continue
    .
  6. Tap
    Register
     after reading the on-screen tutorial to scan your fingerprint.
  7. Press the target to start capture. Repeat as necessary until the process is complete.
  8. Tap
    Done
     (lower-right).
  9. Tap the
    Fingerprint unlock switch
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
