Samsung Galaxy A51 5G UW - Set Up Face Recognition

Here's how to set up a facial recognition scan to access your Galaxy A51 5G UW.

Facial recognition is utilized to unlock the device.

For optimal performance, ensure you are indoors or away from direct sunlight.

If synced to a corporate exchange account, the availability of this option is dependent upon the policies of your IT admin.

From a Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.

These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.

Navigate:

Settings

Security and privacy

Biometrics

Tap

Face recognition

If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.

If necessary, refer to enable lock screen for assistance.

From the Face recognition screen, read about face recognition then tap

Continue

Perform one of the following:

For first time setup:

While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed on-screen.

From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap any of the following switch(es) to turn on Switch on

or off

Face unlock

: When on, device unlocks with a recognized face.

Stay on Lock screen until swipe

: Once unlocked, remain on the lock screen until you swipe.

Require open eyes

: Only recognize your face when eyes are open.

Brighten screen

: Temporarily increases screen brightness to improve facial recognition in the dark.

To remove face data:

From the Face recognition menu, tap

Remove face data

To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
