LG Stylo 6 - Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings (e.g., password, allowed devices, etc.) on your Stylo 6.
If you need to configure settings (e.g., password, allowed devices, etc.) for the Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot on your LG Stylo™ 6, follow these step-by-step instructions.

Set Up Mobile Hotspot

  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Settings Settings Icon
    Network & internet
     .
  2. Tap
    Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
     .
  3. Tap the
    Mobile Hotspot switch
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off .
    If prompted, review the disclaimer then tap
    OK
     .
  4. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
     to select an option.
  5. From the Mobile Hotspot screen, select
    Set up Mobile Hotspot
     .
    If unavailable, tap the
    Mobile Hotspot switch
     .
  6. From the Set Up Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as needed:
    • Wi-Fi name (SSID)
    • Hide my phone
      Enabled when a checkmark is present.
    • Security
      • Open
      • WPA2 PSK
    • Password
      Password can be changed .
    • Show password (may require scrolling)
      Enabled when a checkmark is present.
    • From the 'Max users' drop-down menu, select the maximum number of hotpot users (1-10).
    • If needed, tap
      Show advanced options
       .
      Enabled when a checkmark is present.
    • When Advanced options are enabled, configure the following:
      1. Tap the appropriate Broadcast channel (i.e. Auto-select, 1 - 11).
      2. Tap the appropriate 802.11 Mode:
        • b only
        • g only
        • b/g/n
  7. Tap
    SAVE
     .

Manage connections

  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Settings Settings Icon
    Network & internet

  2. Tap
    Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
     .
  3. Tap the
    Mobile Hotspot switch
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off .
    If prompted, review the disclaimer then tap
    OK
     .
  4. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
     to select an option.
  5. From the Mobile Hotspot screen, select
    Manage connections
     .
  6. Tap
    Allow all devices
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off .
    Restricts which devices are allowed to connect when off.
    To add a device, tap
    Add to allowed devices
     then select one of the following options:
    • Enter MAC address of the device
      Enter the name and MAC address then tap
      Save
       .
    • Choose from connected devices
      Choose a device from the list then tap
      Done
       .

Timeout

  1. From a Home screen, navigate:

    Network & internet

  2. Tap
    Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
     .
  3. Tap the
    Mobile Hotspot switch
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off .
    If prompted, review the disclaimer then tap
    OK
     .
  4. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
     to select an option.
  5. From the Mobile Hotspot screen, select
    Timeout
     .
    Sets how long before the hotspot turns off after no activity.
  6. Select an option:
    • 5 min
    • 10 min
    • 20 min
    • 30 min
    • 60 min
    • Never turns off
