OnePlus 8 5G UW - Set Up Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up fingerprint recognition on your OnePlus 8 5G UW.
  • A fingerprint is utilized to unlock the device.
  • For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and free of moisture, dirt, oil, lotion, dyes, etc.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings
     Settings icon >
    Security & Lock Screen
     >
    Fingerprint Unlock
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
    If no screen lock is active, tap
    Continue
    and select a lock option (e.g., Pattern, PIN or Password) then follow the steps to complete the process.
    Refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock for assistance.
  4. From the 'How to use fingerprint' screen, tap
    NEXT
    .
  5. Follow the on-screen tutorial to scan your fingerprint. Repeat as necessary until the process is complete.
  6. Tap
    Done
    (lower-right).
