OnePlus 8 5G UW - Set Up Face Recognition

Here's how to set up a facial recognition scan to access your OnePlus 8 5G UW.

Facial recognition is utilized to unlock the device.

For optimal performance, ensure you are indoors or away from direct sunlight.

If synced to a corporate exchange account, the availability of this option is dependent upon the policies of your IT admin.

From a Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.

Navigate:

Settings

Security & Lock Screen

Tap

Face Unlock

If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.

Tap

Add face data

Perform one of the following:

For first time setup:

If presented, select a lock screen option (e.g., Pattern, PIN or Password) then follow the steps to complete the process.

If necessary, refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock for assistance.

To continue, review 'Face & fingerprint Terms and conditions' then tap

While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed on-screen.

Once Face data has been added, tap

From the 'Face Unlock' section, tap the switch(es) to turn each option on Switch on

or off

then tap

(at the bottom).

When on, device unlocks with a recognized face.

Auto unlock once the screen is on

Unlock your phone with your face as soon as the screen turns on without swiping first.

Temporarily increases screen brightness to improve facial recognition in the dark

To remove face data:

From the Face recognition menu, tap

Remove face data
