OnePlus 8 5G UW - Restart in Safe Mode

Here's how to restart your OnePlus 8 5G UW into Safe Mode to help determine if an app is causing it to freeze, reset or run slowly.
An alternate method is available if the device is unresponsive or won't power on.
  1. Press and hold the
    Power
    (right-edge) and
    Volume up buttons
     (left-edge) until the 'Power off' prompt appears on the screen then release.

  2. Touch and hold
    Power off
     until the 'Reboot to safe mode' prompt appears then release.
  3. To confirm, tap
    OK
    .
    The process may take up to 30 seconds to complete.
    Upon reboot, 'Safe mode' appears in the lower-left of the unlock / Home screen.
  4. With Safe Mode enabled, ensure Airplane Mode is turned off then test device and app functionality.
