OnePlus 8 5G UW - Add a Wi-Fi Network

Here's how to connect your OnePlus 8 5G UW to a Wi-Fi network.

Connect to an Available Wi-Fi Network

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Wi-Fi & Network
    Wi-Fi
    .
  3. Ensure the 'Use Wi-Fi' switch is turned on Switch on.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • To add from available networks:
      1. Tap the preferred Wi-Fi network.
        If the preferred network is not listed, it can be added manually.
      2. If presented, enter the appropriate password then tap
        CONNECT
        .
    • To add with a QR Code:
      1. Tap
        QR Code icon
        .
      2. Scan QR Code to connect.

Manually Connect to a Wi-Fi Network

Wi-Fi network info is required to complete several steps. Refer to the network admin for assistance.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Wi-Fi & Network
    Wi-Fi
    .
  3. Ensure the 'Use Wi-Fi' switch is turned on Switch on.
  4. Tap
    Add network
     (at the bottom).
  5. From the Network name field, enter the appropriate name.
  6. From the Security field, tap the
    Dropdown menu
     .
  7. Tap the appropriate security option:
    If using an Open network (None), skip to step 9.
    • None
    • WEP
    • WPA / WPA2 - Personal
    • WPA3 - Personal
    • WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 - Enterprise
    • WPA3-Enterprise 192-bit
    • WAPI-PSK
    • WAPI-Cert
  8. From the Password field, enter the appropriate password.
  9. Ensure additional settings (e.g., EAP method, CA certificate, etc.) are configured appropriately (if applicable) then tap
    Save
    .
