Samsung Galaxy A01 - Set Up Face Recognition

Here's how to set up a facial recognition scan to access your Galaxy A01.
  • Facial recognition is utilized to unlock the device.
  • For optimal performance, ensure you are indoors or away from direct sunlight.
  • If synced to a corporate exchange account, the availability of this option is dependent upon the policies of your IT admin.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Biometrics and security
    .
  3. Tap
    Face Recognition
    .
  4. If presented, enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
    If necessary, refer to Set Up Screen Lock for assistance.
  5. Perform one of the following:
    • For first time setup:
      1. From the 'Face recognition' tap
        Continue
        .
      2. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the square displayed on-screen.
      3. From the 'Stay on Lock screen until swipe' screen tap the switch to turn on or off then tap
        Done
        .
      4. From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap the switch(es) to turn each option on Switch on icon or off Switch off icon then tap
        OK
         (at the bottom).
        • Face unlock
          When on, device unlocks with a recognized face.
        • Stay on Lock screen
          Once unlocked, remain on the lock screen until you swipe.
        • Brighten screen
          Temporarily increases screen brightness to improve facial recognition in the dark.
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap
        Remove face data
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
