Samsung Galaxy A01 - Customize Your Home Screen

Here's how to add / remove Home screen items (widgets, apps or folders) and set the wallpaper on your Galaxy A01.
To customize the Home screen on your device, do any of the following:

Add Apps

A shortcut to an individual contact or bookmark can only be added to a Home screen via a widget.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Touch and hold an app.
  3. Drag and drop the shortcut to the preferred Home screen location.
    For the app to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space within the selected Home screen. If needed, additional Home screen panels may be added.

Add Widgets

Widgets are mini-apps (e.g., weather, clock, calendar, etc.) that can be added to a Home screen. They aren't the same as shortcuts as they generally display info and take up more space than a single icon.
  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap
    Widgets
     (at the bottom) then tap a widget set to open it.
  3. Tap the widget then tap
    Add
    .
    The widget is added to the screen automatically.
  4. Drag the widget to the preferred Home screen then release.
    For the widget to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space on the screen. If needed, additional Home screen panels may be added.
  5. If applicable, tap additional options to activate the widget.
    Options vary depending upon the type of widget.

Add / Remove Folders

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold a shortcut (e.g., Email).
  2. Drag the shortcut onto another shortcut (e.g., Calendar) then release.
  3. Tap
    Folder Name
     (at the top).
  4. Enter a name for the folder then tap
    Done
     (lower-right).
    To remove a folder, drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears.

Remove Apps / Widgets

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold the item (e.g., widget, shortcut, folder, etc.) until the menu appears then release.
  2. Tap the applicable option:
    • Select items
    • Remove from Home
    • Disable or Uninstall
      Varies depending on the app.
    • App info

Set Wallpaper

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold a blank area.
  2. Tap
    Wallpaper and style
     (lower-left).
  3. Tap
    Browse my wallpapers
    .
  4. Perform one of the following:
    • To use an existing wallpaper image:
      1. Select a wallpapers album (e.g., Featured, Graphical, Colors, etc.).
      2. Select a wallpaper image from the list.
      3. Select an option (e.g., Home screen, Lock screen, Lock and home screens).
        Selected with blue dot.
      4. If necessary, tap
        Preview
        .
      5. Tap
        Done
         (upper-right).
    • To use an image from your gallery:
      1. Tap
        Gallery
        .
        If prompted, review the location information message then tap
        Allow
        .
      2. Locate then select the preferred picture.
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
      4. Select an option (e.g., Home screen, Lock screen, Lock and home screens).
        Selected with blue dot.
      5. If necessary, tap
        Preview
        .
      6. Tap
        Done
        .
