Google Pixel 4 - Set Up Face Recognition

Here's how to set up a facial recognition scan to access your Pixel 4 / 4 XL.
  • Face unlock is utilized to unlock the device.
  • A screen lock must be active (e.g., PIN, pattern, etc.) to use Face unlock.
  • If synced to a corporate exchange account, the availability of this option is dependent upon the policies of your IT admin.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the middle to display all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Security
    .
  3. Tap
    Face unlock
    .
  4. Perform one of the following:
    • For first time setup:
      1. Enter the current unlock option or choose an option and follow the steps to set up a screen lock:
        • Face unlock + Pattern
        • Face unlock + PIN
        • Face unlock + Password
      2. Review the info then tap
        I Agree
        .
      3. Review the info then tap
        Start
        .
        If presented with feedback option. Tap
        I agree
         > 'Confirm' to opt in or 'Skip' to decline.
      4. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed on-screen.
      5. From the 'Looks good!' screen, tap
        Done
        .
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the 'Face unlock' menu, tap
        Delete face data
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Delete
        .
