Here's how to configure Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot settings (e.g., password, allowed devices, etc.) for your Journey V / Journey.

Setup Mobile Hotspot

  1. From the main screen, select
    Menu
    .
    Utilize the 5-way navigation pad to highlight and the center button to select.

  2. Navigate:
    Tools & Settings Settings icon
    Settings
    Wireless & networks
    Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
    .
  3. Select
    Mobile Hotspot
     then press the
    center button
     to turn on.
  4. Press the
    right soft key
     to choose Options.
  5. Select
    Setup Mobile Hotspot
    .
    Mobile Hotspot must be on to access setup.
  6. From the Setup Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as needed:
    • Network/WiFi name (SSID)
      To hide your connection from other devices, navigate to Hide my phone then press the
      left soft key
       left soft key .
    • Security
      • WPA2 PSK
      • Open
    • Password
      Password can be changed.
    • Show password
      Enabled when a checkmark is present.
    • Broadcast channel
      • Auto
      • 1-10
  7. Select
    Save
    .

Connected Devices

  1. From the main screen, select
    Menu
    .
    Utilize the 5-way navigation pad to highlight and the center button to select.

  2. Navigate:
    Tools & Settings Settings icon
    Settings
    Wireless & networks
    Tethering & Mobile Hotspot

  3. Select
    Mobile Hotspot
     then press the
    center button
     to turn on.
  4. Press the
    right soft key
     to choose Options.
  5. Select
    Connected Devices
    .
    Restricts which devices are allowed to connect.
  6. Select
    right soft key
     to choose 'Options' then press the
    right soft key
     again to choose 'Advanced', select
    Manage devices
     then select from the following:
    • Allow all devices to connect: Press the
      center button
       to turn 'On' or 'Off'.
    • Add device
      :
      • Enter Device name.
      • Enter the MAC address and device name (optional) then select
        Save
        .
    • Select
      Allow devices
       to enable or disable.
      Choose on or off.

Timeout Settings

  1. From the main screen, select
    Menu
    .
    Utilize the 5-way navigation pad to highlight and the center button to select.

    Tools & Settings Settings icon
    Settings
    Wireless & networks
    Tethering & Mobile Hotspot

  3. Select
    Mobile Hotspot
     then press the
    center button
     to turn on.
  4. Press the
    right soft key
     to choose Options.
  5. Select
    Timeout
    .
    Sets how long before the hotspot turns off after no activity.
  6. Highlight then select an option:
    • Never turn-off
    • 5 min
    • 10 min
    • 20 min
    • 30 min
    • 60 min
