Google Pixel 3a - Reset App

Here's how to reset apps if your Pixel 3a / 3a XL crashes, resets or freezes.
Personal data such as browser bookmarks and other customized app settings can be backed up to Google's servers.

Reset Individual App

This option resets app preferences and deletes all data for a single app.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Apps
    .
  3. Tap
    See all xx apps
    .
  4. Locate then select the appropriate app.
    If system apps aren't visible, tap the
    Menu icon Menu icon
    Show system
    .
    If troubleshooting for Voicemail, tap the
    Phone app Phone icon
    then follow steps 5-9. Once reset, you must activate Voicemail.
  5. Tap
    Force stop
    .
  6. Tap
    OK
    .
  7. Tap
    Storage & cache
    .
  8. Tap
    Clear storage
    .
    This option may not be available for some apps.
    Resetting an app does not remove saved items on the device (texts, pictures, voicemails, etc.); however, saved passwords for Wi-Fi, settings, backgrounds, etc. within the app itself may be reset.
  9. Tap
    OK
    .

Reset All App Preferences

This option resets all preferences for the following and app data isn't affected:
  • Disabled apps
  • Disabled app notifications
  • Default apps for actions
  • Background data restrictions for apps
  • Any permission restrictions
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Apps.

    See all xx apps

  4. Tap the
    Menu icon Menu icon
    (upper-right).
  5. Tap
    Reset app preferences
