Alcatel Avalon V - Customize Your Home Screen

Here's how to add / remove Home screen items (widgets, apps or folders) and set the wallpaper on your Avalon V.
To customize the Home screen on your Alcatel Avalon™ V, do any of the following:

Add Apps

A shortcut to an individual contact or bookmark can be added to a Home screen via a widget.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Touch and hold an app.
  3. Drag the shortcut to the desired Home screen then release.
    For the app to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space within the selected Home screen. If needed, additional Home screen panels may be added.

Add Widgets

Widgets are mini-apps (e.g., weather, clock, calendar, etc.) that can be added to a Home screen. They aren't the same as shortcuts as they generally display info and take up more space than a single icon.
  1. Touch and hold an empty area on a Home screen.
  2. Tap
    Widgets
     (at the bottom).
  3. Touch and hold a widget.
  4. Drag the widget to the preferred Home screen then release.
    For the widget to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space within the selected screen. If needed, additional Home screen panels may be added.
  5. If applicable, select additional options to activate the widget.
    Options vary depending upon the type of widget.

Add / Remove Folders

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an app (e.g., Email, My Verizon, etc.).
  2. Drag the app on to another app (e.g., Gmail, Call Filter, etc.) then release it.
    A folder containing the shortcuts is created (titled Unnamed Folder). To rename the folder:
    To remove a folder, drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears.
    1. Tap the folder.
    2. Tap the
      Title bar
       (top of the open folder).
    3. Enter a name then tap
      OK
      .
    To remove a folder, drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears.

Remove Apps / Widgets

Removing an app from a Home screen uninstalls it from your device.
  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold the item (e.g., widget, shortcut, etc.).
  2. Drag the item to 'Remove' (at the top) then release.

Set Wallpaper

  1. Touch and hold a blank space on a Home screen.
  2. Tap
    Wallpapers
     (lower-left).
  3. Tap 'My photos' or select a wallpaper (at the bottom).
    If 'My photos' is selected, locate then tap the preferred picture.
  4. Select one of the following:
    • Home screen
    • Lock screen
    • Home screen and lock screen
  5. Tap
    Set Wallpaper
     (upper-left).
