Lenovo tab 4 8 PLUS - Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings (e.g., password, timeout, etc.) on your Tab 4 8 PLUS.

Set Up Mobile Hotspot

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings
     Settings icon >
    Network & Internet
     >
    Hotspot and tethering
    .
  3. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  4. Tap
    Set up Mobile Hotspot
    .
  5. From the 'Set up Mobile Hotspot' screen, configure the following as preferred:
    • Network name
    • Security
      • None
      • WPA2 PSK
    • Password
      Password can be changed.
  6. Tap
    SAVE
    .

View Devices

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings
     Settings icon >
    Network & Internet
     >
    Hotspot and tethering
    .
  3. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  4. In the 'CONNECTED DEVICES' section, view the MAC IDs of connected devices.

Timeout

  3. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot

  4. Tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon (upper-right) then tap
    Advanced
    .
  5. Tap
    Timeout settings
    .
  6. Select an option:
    • Never timeout
    • 5 minutes
    • 10 minutes
    • 20 minutes
    • 30 minutes
    • 60 minutes
