Samsung Galaxy S10 - Home Screen Settings

Here's how to change the Home screen settings for your Galaxy S10e / Galaxy S10 / Galaxy S10+.

Home screen layout

Apps can be displayed on the Home screen or a separate Apps screen.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    These instructions apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout only.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Home screen
    .
    If Settings is unavailable, touch and hold a blank area of the Home screen then tap
    Settings
    .
  3. Tap
    Home screen layout
    .
  4. Select one of the following:
    • Home and Apps screens
      All apps display on an Apps screen, which is separate from the Home screen.
      This is the default setting.
    • Home screen only
      All apps display on the Home screen.
  5. Tap
    Apply
    .

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    These instructions apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout only.
  2. Navigate:

    Home screen

    If Settings is unavailable, touch and hold a blank area of the Home screen then tap
    Settings
    .
  3. Tap
    Home screen grid
    .
  4. Select the desired option (e.g., 4x5, 4x6, 5x5, 5x6) located at the bottom.
    When selected, a preview of the change displays above.
  5. Tap
    Save
    (lower-right).

Apps screen grid

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    These instructions apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout only.
  2. Navigate:

    If Settings is unavailable, touch and hold a blank area of the Home screen then tap
    Settings

  3. Tap
    Apps screen grid

    This option is only available in the Home and Apps screens layout.
  4. Select the desired option (e.g., 4x5, 4x6, 5x5, 5x6) located at the bottom.
    When selected, a preview of the change displays above.
  5. Tap
    Save
    (lower-right).
  6. To rearrange icons and remove empty space(s):
    1. From the apps screen, tap the
      Menu icon
       Menu icon (upper-right).
    2. Tap
      Clean up pages
      .
    3. Tap
      Apply
      (top).

Apps button

An Apps icon can be used to access the apps screen as an alternative to swiping up or down from the Home screen.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    These instructions apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout only.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Home screen
    .
    If Settings is unavailable, touch and hold a blank area of the Home screen then tap
    Settings
    .
  3. Tap
    Apps button
    .
    This option is only available in the Home and Apps screens layout.
  4. Tap
    Show Apps screen button on Home screen
     to turn on Switch on icon or off Switch off icon.

Hide apps

Selected Apps don't appear on the Home/Apps screen.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    These instructions apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout only.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Home screen
    .
    If Settings is unavailable, touch and hold a blank area of the Home screen then tap
    Settings
    .
  3. Tap
    Hide apps
    .
  4. Select the desired app(s).
    Selected when a checkmark is present.
  5. Tap
    Done
    (at the bottom).
