Verizon GizmoTablet™ - Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure Mobile Hotspot settings (e.g., allowed devices, timeout, etc.) on your GizmoTablet.

Set Up Mobile Hotspot

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Connections
    Mobile Hotspot and Tethering
    .
  3. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  4. Tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon (upper-right).
  5. Tap
    Configure
    .Mobile Hotspot.
  6. From the Configure Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as preferred:
    • Network name (SSID)
      The network name can be hidden by tapping
      Hide my device
       to turn on or off.
    • Security
      • Open
      • WPA2 PSK
    • Password
      Password can be changed.
    • Show advanced options
      Options available when a checkmark is present.
      • Under Broadcast channel, tap Use 5 GHz band when available to turn on or off.
      • Tap the
        Dropdown menu icon
         Dropdown menu icon to select the channel (Auto, 1, 2, 11, etc.).
  7. Tap
    Save

Manage Devices

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Connections
    Mobile Hotspot and Tethering
    .
  3. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  4. Tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon (upper-right).
  5. Tap
    Configure
    .Mobile Hotspot.
  6. Tap
    Allowed devices
    .
    Restricts which devices are allowed to connect.
  7. Tap
    Allowed devices only
    to enable or disable.
    Enabled when the switch is on Switch on icon.
  8. To add a device:
    1. Tap
      Add
       (upper-right).
    2. Enter the MAC address and device name (optional) then tap
      Add
      .
    3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 as necessary.
    4. When finished, tap the
      left arrow
       Left arrow icon to return to the previous screen.

Timeout

    Connections
    Mobile Hotspot and Tethering

  3. Tap

  4. Tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon (upper-right).
  5. Tap
    Timeout settings
    .
  6. Select an option:
    • Never timeout
    • 5 minutes
    • 10 minutes
    • 20 minutes
    • 30 minutes
    • 60 minutes
