Google Pixel 3 - Set Up Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up fingerprint recognition on your Pixel 3 / 3 XL.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Security
    .
  3. Tap
    Pixel Imprint
    .
  4. From the 'Choose screen lock' screen, choose an option to use as a backup screen lock (e.g., Pixel Imprint + Pattern, etc.) then follow the instructions to set up the backup screen lock.
    If presented, enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
    Refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock for assistance.
  5. From the 'Set up Pixel Imprint' screen read How it works then, tap

  6. From the 'Touch the sensor' screen, place your finger on the sensor until it vibrates then lift.
    For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and moisture-free.
  7. On the 'Lift, then touch again' screen, continue pressing the sensor several times until it shows completed.
    For greater accuracy, finger placement should vary slightly each time.
  8. Tap 'Done' or 'Add another' to add additional fingerprints.
    Up to 5 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
