Samsung Galaxy J3 V / Galaxy J3 (3rd Gen.) - Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings (e.g., password, allowed devices, etc.) for your Galaxy J3 V / J3.
Mobile Hotspot must be turned off Off switch icon to configure some settings.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Connections
    Mobile Hotspot & Tethering
    .
  3. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  4. From the Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following:
    • Network Name (SSID)
    • Password
  5. Tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon (upper-right) then do any of the following:
    • Create a list of allowed devices:
      1. Tap
        Allowed devices
        .
      2. Tap
        Allowed devices only
         to turn on On switch icon.
      3. Tap
        Add
         (upper-right).
      4. Enter the Device name and MAC address of the desired device then tap
        Add
        .
    • Configure Mobile Hotspot Settings:
      1. Tap
        Configure Mobile Hotspot
        .
      2. Configure any of the following:
        • Network name
        • Hide my phone
          Only devices in the Allowed devices list will be able to connect.
          Enabled when a checkmark is present.
        • Security
        • Password
    • Manage Timeout settings:
      1. Tap
        Timeout settings
        .
      2. Select the desired option (e.g., 5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc.).
