Here's how to configure Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings (e.g., password, network name, etc.) on your Galaxy S9 / S9+.

Configure Mobile Hotspot

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Connections
    Mobile Hotspot and Tethering
    .
  3. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  4. Tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon then tap
    Configure Mobile Hotspot
    .
  5. Configure any of the following:
    • Network name
    • Hide my phone
      On when a checkmark is present.
    • Security
      This option can be set to Open or WPA2 PSK.
    • Password
    • Power saving mode
      This option reduces battery usage by analyzing Mobile Hotspot traffic.
      On when a checkmark is present.
    • Protected Management Frames.
  6. Tap
    Save
     (lower-right).
