Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9+ - Enable / Disable App
Here's how to turn pre-installed apps on your Galaxy S9 / S9+ on or off.
Some apps that come pre-installed (e.g., calculator, Google Play™ Store, Verizon Cloud, Call filter, etc.) on your Android™ device can't be uninstalled; however, they can be disabled (turned off) so they don't appear in the list of apps on your device.
- The option toenableordisablean app may only be available for apps that can't be uninstalled.
- If an application is grayed out or you receive a message stating you've used all your time for the day, you can change the app timer or add additional time to continue using the app. Refer to Android phone with Digital Wellbeing for additional info.
Enable App
- From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
- Navigate:.SettingsApps
- Ensure All is selected (upper-left).If necessary, tap theDropdown icon
(upper-left) then select
All. - Locate then select the appropriate app.If system apps aren't visible, tap the.Menu iconShow system apps
- TapTurn on(bottom).
Disable App
Disabling an app may cause related apps to function improperly.
- From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
- Navigate:.SettingsApps
- Ensure All is selected (upper-left).If necessary, tap theDropdown iconAll.
- Locate then select the appropriate app.If system apps aren't visible, tap the.Menu iconShow system apps
- TapForce stop(bottom).
- To confirm, tapOK.
- TapDisable.
- To confirm, tapDisable app.
