Apple iPhone - Manually Select Roaming Carrier While Traveling Internationally

Here's how to manually choose a carrier if your iPhone shows 'No Service' or 'Searching' while roaming.
If you're currently traveling internationally and your Apple® iPhone® displays 'No Service,' you can manually select a carrier. For more info on international carriers, visit this support page.

  1. From a Home screen, tap
    Settings
     Settings icon.
    If an app isn't available on your Home screen, swipe left to access the App Library.
  2. Tap
    Cellular
    .
  3. Tap 'Cellular Network' or 'Network Selection'.
    This option only appears while traveling outside the US.
    Steps may vary depending on iOS version, device model and location.
  4. Tap the
    Automatic switch
     to turn off Switch off icon.
  5. Once available networks appear, tap the desired carrier (e.g., Verizon, Vodafone, etc.).
    Allow up to 2 minutes for carrier listing.
  6. Look for signal bars Signal bars icon or a carrier name on the display to indicate that you have connected to the network.
