Apple iPhone - Check Device Storage

Here's how to check available space if your iPhone runs slow / crashes, apps freeze or you can't save media.

If you need to check the storage usage on your Apple® iPhone®, follow these instructions.

From a Home screen, navigate:

iPhone storage

The iPhone section at the top shows how much storage space is used compared to the total amount of device storage.

Cache memory being used by your iPhone can be quickly dumped by turning your device off and then back on again.

To free up additional storage space, unused items may be removed from the device such as:

Deleted pictures and videos are moved to the "Recently Deleted" album and must be cleared to free up memory.
