Apple iPhone - Customize Your Home Screen

Here's how to add / remove Home screen items (widgets, apps or folders) and set the wallpaper on your iPhone.
To customize the Home screen on your iPhone® do any of the following:

Add Apps

  1. From the App Library, touch and hold an app.
  2. Drag and drop the shortcut to the preferred Home screen.
    For the app to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space within the selected Home screen. If needed, additional Home screen panels may be added.

Add Widgets

Widgets are mini-apps (e.g. weather, clock, calendar, etc.) that can be added to your Home screen.
  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap the
    Plus icon
     Add icon (upper-left).
  3. Touch and hold a widget.
  4. Drag the widget to the preferred Home screen then release.
    For the app to be successfully added, there must be sufficient space within the selected Home screen. If needed, additional Home screen panels may be added.

Add / Remove Folders

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an app (e.g. Email, My Verizon, etc.).
  2. Drag the app on to another app (e.g., Gmail, Call Filter, etc.) then release it.
    A folder containing the apps is created. To rename the folder:
    1. Tap the folder.
    2. Tap the
      Title bar
       (top of the open folder).
    3. Enter a name then tap
      done
      .
      To remove a folder, drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears.

Remove Apps / Widgets

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold the item (e.g. widget, apps, etc).
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Remove app
      1. Tap
        Remove App
        .
      2. Tap
        Remove from Home Screen
        .
        Once removed from Home screen, app is moved to App Library.
    • Remove Widget
      1. Tap
        Remove Widget
      2. To confirm tap
        Remove
        .

Set Wallpaper

The steps below don't apply to devices running iOS 15.7 or earlier:
  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Settings Settings Icon
    Wallpaper
    Choose a New Wallpaper
    .
  2. Tap the desired wallpaper then tap
    Set
    .
  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Settings
    Wallpaper
    .
    If an app isn't available on your Home screen, swipe left to access the App Library.
  2. Tap
    Add New Wallpaper
    .
  3. Select one of the following:
    Options may vary:
    • Photos
    • Photo Shuffle
    • Emoji
    • Weather
    • Astrology
    • Color
  4. Tap desired photo or wallpaper.
    If available, swipe left for additional tints and styles.
  5. Tap
    Add
     (upper-right).
  6. Tap an option:
    • Set as Wallpaper Pair
    • Customize Home Screen
