Apple iPhone - Set Ringtones

Here's how to select or change ringtones or notification tones on your iPhone.
To check what iOS verison you have navigate:
Settings
General
About
 then look under Software Version.

iOS 16 or later

  1. From a Home screen on your Apple® iPhone®, navigate:
    Settings Settings Icon
    Sounds & Haptics
    .
    If an app isn't available on your Home screen, swipe left to access the App Library.
  2. From the 'RINGTONE AND ALERT VOLUME' section, adjust the volume as desired.
  3. Tap the
    Change with Buttons switch
     to turn on Switch On or off Switch Off.
  4. From the 'SOUNDS AND HAPTIC PATTERNS' section, tap
    Ringtone
    .
    Ringtone selected when a checkmark is present.
  5. Tap Back Arrow
    Back
     (upper-left).
  6. Tap
    Text Tone
     then select the alert tone.
    From the 'Alert Tones' section, select the alert tone.

iOS 15.7 or earlier

  1. From a Home screen on your Apple® iPhone®, navigate:

  2. From Ringer and Alerts, adjust the volume as desired.
  3. Tap the

    Ringtone
    .

  5. Tap Back Arrow
    Back
     (upper-left).
  6. From the 'Sounds and Vibration Patterns' section, tap
    Text Tone
    .
  7. From the 'Alert Tones' section, select the alert tone.
