Apple iPhone - Use Maps

Here's how to use the Maps app on your iPhone to find your current location.

Finding Driving Directions

Find Current Locations

  1. From a Home screen, tap
    Maps
     Maps Icon.
    If an app isn't available on your Home screen, swipe left to access the App Library.
  2. Tap the
    Location icon
     Location Icon (upper-right).
    If available, select 3D for a three-dimensional view.
  3. If applicable, tap
    Allow
    .

Add Layers

  1. From a Home screen, tap
    Maps
     Maps icon.
    If an app isn't available on your Home screen, swipe left to access the App Library.
  2. Tap the
    Choose Map icon
     Choose map icon (upper-right above the location icon Location icon).
    For iOS 14.8 or older tap the
    Info icon
     Info icon (upper-right above the location icon Location icon).
  3. Select the layer(s):
    The following options may vary based on iOS version.
    • Map
    • Explore
    • Driving
    • Transit
    • Satellite
  4. To show traffic info, tap the
    Traffic switch
     to turn on Switch on icon.
    This step doesn't apply to devices on iOS 15 or later.
