Here's how to adjust screen brightness and other display settings (e.g., Screen saver, Screen timeout, Font size, etc.) for your Galaxy J3 V / J3 (2016).
Follow these steps to adjust brightness settings and display / font settings.

Adjust Brightness Settings

  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Apps
    Settings Settings icon
    Display
    .
    For Prepaid device, tap
    Display & wallpaper
    .
    These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. Adjust the Brightness level by using the slide control at the top of the screen.
    To increase screen brightness for outdoor usage, tap the
    Outdoor mode switch
     to turn on Switch on icon or off Switch off icon .

Adjust Display / Font Settings

  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Apps
    Settings Settings icon
    Display
    .
    For Prepaid device, tap
    Display & wallpaper
    .
    These instructions apply to Standard mode only.
  2. For Prepaid device only, tap
    Screen rotation
     to turn on or off.
  3. Tap
    Screen timeout
     then select an option (e.g., 15 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, etc.).
  4. Tap
    Screen mode
     then select an option (e.g., Adaptive display, Basic, etc.).
  5. To control what happens when the device is docked and/or charging:
    1. Tap
      Screen saver
      .
    2. Tap the
      Screen saver switch
       to turn on Switch on icon or off Switch off icon .
    3. Select a Screen saver setting (e.g., Colors, Photos, etc.).
    4. Tap the
      Back icon Left arrow icon
      (upper-left) to return to the display settings screen.
  6. Tap
    Screen zoom and font
    .
    For Prepaid device, tap
    Font
    .
  7. From the SCREEN ZOOM section, adjust using the slide control.
    This step is for post-pay model only.
  8. From the Font size section, adjust using the slide control.
  9. From the Font style section, tap an option (e.g., Choco cooky, Rosemary, etc.).
  10. Tap
    Apply
    .
    For Prepaid device, tap
    Done
    .
