Apple iPad - Insert / Remove SIM Card
Here's how to properly insert or remove a SIM card for your iPad.
Instructions on inserting / removing your SIM can help with activation issues/errors, browser connection problems, and a blank / frozen screen.
- Don't attempt to insert or remove the SIM card while your Apple® iPad® is powered on. Doing so may harm the SIM card and / or the device.
- Don't modify or alter your SIM card.
- Ensure the device is powered off.
- Based on the iPad model, refer to Remove or switch the SIM card in your iPad to determine the SIM tray location.Utilize the SIM eject tool (or paperclip) to unlock the tray by inserting it into the provided slot.
- Remove or insert the SIM from / into the SIM card tray.
- To insert the tray back into the iPad, align in slot and press in on the tray to lock it into place.With the iPad screen facing up, ensure the SIM card tray is inserted with the SIM ID on top and gold contacts facing down.
