Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock - LG G Pad 8.3 LTE

Here's how to set up, change or disable the screen lock option (e.g., password, pattern, etc.) for your LG G Pad 8.3 LTE.
  • If using Microsoft® Exchange / Corporate sync, some screen lock options may be unavailable.
  • These steps can also be utilized to change the current screen lock setting on your device.

Knock Code

Knock Code allows you to tap a pattern to unlock the screen without turning it on.
  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Apps Apps icon
    Settings Settings icon
    Lock screen
    .
  2. Tap
    Select screen lock
     .
    If prompted to add a Google™ account:
    • Tap Add Google account now to set up an account.
    • Tap
      Continue
       to proceed without setting up account.
      If presented, enter the current PIN, password, pattern or facial scan.
  3. Tap
    Knock Code
    .
  4. Tap
    Next
     .
  5. From set knock code, enter your pattern (3-8 taps) then tap
    Done
     .
  6. Confirm the pattern then tap
    Confirm
     .
  7. Enter a backup PIN then tap
    Continue
     .
  8. Confirm the backup PIN then tap
    OK
     .
  9. From the lock screen options screen, tap one of the following then tap
    OK
     :
    • Show all notifications
    • Hide sensitive only
    • Hide all notifications
  10. To disable screen lock tap 'None' or 'Swipe'.

Pattern

An unlock pattern is created then utilized to access the device.
  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Apps Apps icon
    Settings Settings icon
    Lock screen
     .
  2. Tap
    Select screen lock
     .
    If prompted to add a Google™ account:
    • Tap Add Google account now to set up an account.
    • Tap
      Continue
       to proceed without setting up account.
      If presented, enter the current PIN, password, pattern or facial scan.
  3. Tap
    Pattern
     .
  4. Tap
    Next
     .
  5. Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least four dots) then tap
    Next
     .
  6. Re-draw the pattern then tap
    Confirm
     .
  7. From the lock screen options screen, tap one of the following then tap
    OK
     :
    • Show all notifications
    • Hide sensitive only
    • Hide all notifications
  8. To disable screen lock tap 'None' or 'Swipe'.

PIN

A PIN is created then utilized to access the device.
  1. From a Home screen, navigate:

    Lock screen

  2. Tap

  4. Enter a numeric PIN (4-16 digits) then tap
    Next

  5. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap
    OK
     .
  6. From the lock screen options screen, tap one of the following then tap
    OK
     :
    • Show all notifications
    • Hide sensitive only
    • Hide all notifications
  7. To disable screen lock tap 'None' or 'Swipe'.

Password

A password is created then utilized to access the device.
  1. From a Home screen, navigate:

    Settings Settings icon
    Lock screen

    Select screen lock
